A very good day from Fay-fay

Today was a pawsome day. It was a very nice hot day......A lazy day in front of the A/C. Lil girl went to her friends house to stay and when they came driving up we got to play with a Maltese named China!! She was so much fun to chase and play tag with. But boy oh boy......don't let size get ya...She is a fast little one! Not faster than me but I let her think she is......She's a Porsche I am a Ferrari! At least that's what mom says. It was just about dusk and mom and dad decided it was time for us to go for WALKIES!!! Whoo Hoo!! Everpawdy looks forward to this part of the day....Mom and dad get 5 long walkies! And 2 short walkies. So they stay fit and we don't do a Marley. BOL

Well while Duke and I where walking I got to thinking.....The girls need some training. But where do I start.... Mom is already training them how to sit, stay, come, down, heel and play ball. A very important thing around here. You got to know how to fetch......Don't know why but the humans at my house think fetching is a good trait to have......FOR A BIRD DOG! But for your guard dog you do not need to know how to fetch.....Just bring the bad guy to your mom or dad and letting him live. Not silly games like fetch.

Why does that word strike me as the same thing as bringing the intruder to mom or dad?? (note to self: look up the word 'fetch')

Anywho......back to the girls' training. I was pondering this the whole walk.....What trait do I have that mom really likes.....Is it my big mean bark? NAW she keeps telling me to knock it off. Is it my guard dog attitude? Maybe .... but Karma and ShamWow are already picking up on the whole guard dog thing. And they actually let people that mom and dad like up on the porch. Is it my snuggle time? No they get the same amount of snuggle time with mom and dad. Is it that I like to sneak a shoe every now and then? Well they always beat me to the shoe's and mom doesn't seem to happy about that one. So I'll let her deal with that one.....BOL

Ahh....I know what to start them out on.....A trait that mom just adores that I do that only one other dog in her life has done.....Teach the girls to bring the toys to the toy box....THAT'S IT!! And it's going to be the easiest to teach. I mean it took mom only one day and I had it down. So tonight I seen the girls come in from outside and they had a puppet in their mouth.....But instead of bringing it to the crate they were playing with it.....Well after they got done playing with it they just dropped it and started off on their own....Well I picked up the toy and took it to the toy box and put in. Well here the girls come take the same toy out and drop it. SO I picked it up again.......And then started to argue with the girls that this toy needs to be put up when your done playing with it......Well maybe it'll take a couple of days to train them this trait.

But then as mom was walking past the girls and ShamWow was chewing on a shoe. So she started looking for the girls chew toy....their Nyla Bone keys. She couldn't find them anywhere in the house. So out to the yard mom went to look for the elusive keys. She took the flashlight and set out. She looked in the front of the yard and the very back. She fell and we must have heard her go down cause the girls and I were there in a flash! We made sure she was ok and got her up.....But those keys weren't there. Well as she was getting ready to give up she finds them right next to the concrete pad. Something about they're always in the last place you look. (isn't that because you found them? Or maybe people keep looking after they find what they are looking for. I dunno but it seems silly to keep looking for it after you found it.) So she came in took the shoe away from Shams again and gave her the keys she almost broke her neck for. Shams looks up, takes the keys and chews them for a bit and then goes to lay down. I guess that walk took it out of her.... So now I am dictating to mom from her side that hurts and keeping her down on the couch for some much needed rest......I'll bark at you later!

Love Fay-fay
